The Horseman’s Tale tells the hauntingly beautiful story of Jake Montgomery, a combat-wounded Vietnam veteran grappling with the ghosts of his past. Forced into journaling therapy, Jake confronts buried pain from his tumultuous life: from his childhood in racially divided Ocala, Florida, to his experiments with free love in the 1960s, and his harrowing experiences on the battlefields of Vietnam. His journey of self-discovery, filled with love, loss, and revenge, is intertwined with the story of a special horse that offers him hope and purpose amidst his despair. The novel delves into deep themes of PTSD, civil rights, and the redemptive power of equine companionship.
About the Author
Sir Thomas (Tom) Equels, MS, JD, is a distinguished figure whose multifaceted career spans military, legal, and equine achievements. A combat-wounded Vietnam veteran and recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross and Purple Heart, Equels is also a seasoned Thoroughbred and Paso Fino breeder and trainer. His work in civil rights and social justice is well-regarded, and he currently leads Aim Immunotech Inc. His experiences and insights bring a unique depth to his writing.
